The name is a little confusing - it has absolutely nothing to do with Wikipedia, Wikilinks, or any other traditional Wiki, as far as we can tell - but that doesn't mean the Wikipad ($250) isn't worth a look. Built with gaming in mind, the Wikipad features a 7-inch HD screen, a Nvidia Tegra 3 processor with quad-core GPU, a built-in gyroscope, compass, and accelerometer.


A 2-megapixel front-facing camera, 16GB of internal storage with a MicroSD slot for expansion, GPS, and built-in stereo speakers. The biggest feature, however, is the detachable game controller that gives you a proper D-pad, dual analog sticks, and Playstation Mobile certification.

Samsung has updated its tablet lineup with the Galaxy Tab 3, a 7-inch tablet running Android 4.1 or Jelly Bean. The device sports a dual-core 1.2GHz processor, 8/16GB of internal storage memory (expandable to 64GB via memory cards), and a 3-megapixel camera on the back, coupled with a 1.3-megapixel one on the front.


The 7-inch screen has a 1024x600 pixel screen, which sounds awfully low by today's standards, but the device is capable of Full HD video playback. Samsung has stuffed all that into a 111.1 x 188.0 x 9.9mm package that weighs 302g if you choose the Wi-Fi version, or 306g for the 3G variant.

The Wi-Fi version of the 7-inch Galaxy Tab 3 will be available globally in May, and the 3G version will come in June. Exact pricing and availability will vary by market and will be rolled out "gradually," Samsung claims.

Ditch the toys and step up to a man-sized R/C with the Mammuth Rewarron 1:3 Scale R/C Car ($5,500-$15,000). As the name suggests, it's one-third the size of a real auto, measuring nearly six and a half feet long, and weighing roughly 175 lbs.


It's powered by a 200 or 250cc 4-stroke engine, giving it a top speed of over 40 mph. It also boasts an on-board touch screen controller for the brakes, ABS, traction control, and telemetry. All of which begs the question: Why not just buy a real car instead?

True to its grandiose name, this powerhouse might look a lot like the Touch, but uses RF signals to communicate with a Hub that in turn issues signals over Infrared and Bluetooth to everything from TVs to PS3s.


It also controls Philips Hue lights, and offers its own 2.4" touchscreen — but if you'd rather use something a bit larger, you can download the Harmony app and control the whole show from your smartphone or tablet.

How could we not like a product whose feature list includes checkmarks for "badass" and "incites jealousy"? Better yet, both are actually true of the Wolf Helmet ($200). And just like a yacht, you might find discovering an appropriate place to park it quite the challenge.

Just in case you missed it, it looks like DSLR-sized sensors in compact bodies is this year's photography trend — and the Ricoh GR ($800) is the latest to join the crowd. Weighing in at just 8.6 oz., the new GR features an APS-C-sized, 16 megapixel CMOS sensor, a fixed 28mm f/2.8 lens, the new GR Engine V imaging processor, ISO sensitivity up to 25600, improved auto focus, and the obligatory 1080p video recording. It's not as super-retro as some of its competition, but its plain looks might help ward off unwanted attention — which might be more important, anyway.

Some concepts seem ready for production, while some make you wish they were ready for production. The Mercedes-Benz GLA Concept ($TBA) belongs in the latter category. Built on the same compact vehicle architecture as the A- and B-Class, this compact crossover is powered by a turbocharged 2.0L four-cylinder good for 208 hp that's paired to a 7-speed dual clutch automatic transmission and MB's 4MATIC all-wheel drive system.


That's all fairly normal, as are the 20-inch wheels, large roof spoiler, and interior that features a blend of leather and dark galvanized aluminum. The air vents are illuminated from behind, glowing blue for cool air and red for warm, but that's not outlandish — what is are the laser-beam projector headlamps, which provide light at night but can also project nearly anything you want onto a flat surface.
