How to Repair the Volume Control on an iPod
You may find the volume control on your iPod does not work well or that the volume control bar on the screen sticks when you try adjusting the volume. This malfunction can happen for several reasons: not using the iPod for a few weeks, after connecting it to peripherals such as Bluetooth devices or with continuous use. Resetting the iPod can fix this problem, which will reset the volume control.
1: Press the "Sleep/Wake" and "Volume Down" buttons simultaneously, and hold them down for at least eight seconds until the Apple logo appears on the iPod screen.

3: Plug your iPod into a power source if the Apple logo still does not appear on the iPod screen.
4: Tap "Settings," "Reset Settings," "Reset" and choose your language.
5: Tap "Done."
